EVENING RECEPTIONS
The main event of the National Day on Writing is an evening reception that recognizes the winners of student writing contests and features readings from invited authors, followed by a reception and book signing.

This year's National Day on Writing will feature a reading by author Dantiel W. Moniz 6:00 p.m. in the Majestic Palm room, Student Union, FAU Boca Raton campus. The undergraduate and graduate student winners of the Arnold H. Kossoff "Pen to Paper" Essay Contest will also read their winning essays.
Dantiel W. Moniz is a homegrown Floridian whose work has appeared in journals such as Tin House, Ploughshares, McSweeney's Quarterly Concern,and Joyland among others. She has received scholarships and residencies from Hedgebrook and the Elizabeth George Foundation, and was selected as the winner of the 2018 Alice Hoffman Prize for Fiction. Her debut story collection, MILK BLOOD HEAT, is forthcoming from Grove Atlantic.

The Student Union is located on the east side of West University Drive. The main entrance from Glades Road onto West University Drive is the best route to take. Convenient parking is located in front of the Student Union in Lot 16.
