EZ Advising: FAU's Early Academic Advising Program
EZ Advising takes the worry out of receiving your academic advising.
EZ Advising is the web-based advising tool used prior to your first semester. Through it, you will receive guidance and recommendations from your advisor on what courses to register for in your first semester.
You will need to complete your part of the EZ Advising form in one sitting, allow at least 30 minutes. It could then take 7-10 business days to process your submitted EZ Advising form depending on the number received. However, once approved and your holds are cleared, you can log into MyFAU and register for classes using the feedback and comments provided by your advisor. That's all there is to it!
Note: The information from your approved EZ Advising form will be sent to your FAU email account. If you have not already done so, sign in and get it set up and then check it on a regular basis. This is how FAU will communicate with you from now on. http://myfau.bjtvalve.com/
If you have questions along the way, you can contact us at advisingservices@bjtvalve.com or by telephone at (561) 297-3064.
REMEMBER: Participation in the EZ Advising process DOES NOT exempt you from attending the university's MANDATORY Orientation program. Everything you need to navigate the online advising process is located below.
Instructions & Tools You Need to Complete EZ Advising
All students looking to pursue a degree in the Department of Music must audition and be accepted into the Department as a music major. Please visit the following website for additional information:
Department of Music | Florida Atlantic University
Advising and Registration Information:
As a music major, you will need to complete an EZ Advising form in order to be advised for the classes you need from the General Education (Gen Ed) formally IFP. You will also need to be advised for music courses appropriate to your skill level and individual talents by the Department of Music.
Advising for music courses will be done at the Music Orientation. After your advising has been completed by your music advisor, your UN hold will be moved forward and you will be able to register for both your music and your Gen Ed classes. Since many music courses are only offered at one time each semester, you will need to register for your required music classes first and then complete your schedule with one or more Gen Ed courses. Please remember to complete EZ Advising as soon as possible for Gen Ed recommendations.
Note: Your UN hold will not be removed until you have completed advising both through EZ Advising and in the Department of Music.
