It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Cheryl Krause-Parello, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, as the Interim Associate Vice President for the Division of Research, effective Aug. 1. Dr. Krause-Parello joined Florida Atlantic University in 2018 and currently serves as Associate Dean for Research and Schmidt Distinguished Professor for FAU’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing. She also leads the university-based health research initiative for veterans, Canines Providing Assistance to Wounded Warriors.
As an American Academy of Nursing fellow and FAU Institute for Human Health and Disease Intervention faculty fellow, Dr. Krause-Parello has earned national recognition for her innovative research investigating the relationship between human-animal interaction and stress biomarkers in vulnerable populations, including military veterans and children of alleged sexual abuse.
I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the internal search process for this key Division of Research leadership position that facilitates FAU’s pursuit of major research, scholarly and creative advancements and fosters high-impact, disciplinary and multidisciplinary projects involving external funding.
