Partnership Creates Mentorship for Student Inventors

FAU Wave and FAU’s chapter of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) are combining forces to create a new mentorship program that will match faculty with students.

This collaboration provides an exclusive opportunity for faculty and students to develop thriving relationships over innovative concepts and ideas to help solve today’s societal challenges. Here's a look at the benefits:

Wave Students:

  • Match with an FAU NAI faculty mentor in specific area of interest
  • Access NAI Global Academic Inventors Network
  • Opportunity to present during Next Generation Inventors session at NAI’s annual meeting
  • Training through NAI intellectual property certification course
  • Honorary NAI chapter membership for competition winners

NAI Faculty Mentors:

  • Contribute to NAI’s goal to educate and mentor innovative students
  • Identify promising students for positions in laboratories or NSF I-Corps teams
  • Recognition at annual NAI chapter luncheon and FAU Wave award ceremony
  • Help improve student success metrics for departments and colleges
