Network Drives

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides shared servers where individuals and departments can share files for network retrieval. Those file storage spaces are:

ANDI ("M") Drive

Everyone in the University community has a personal drive (designated as the "M" drive) to which only he or she has access. Your "M" drive is set up so that one folder, which is labeled "web," is accessible via the Internet. Any files you put in that folder can be accessed via the Internet, regardless of whether the files are html, image, or document file types. To obtain access to the "M" drive off campus, follow these steps:

  • Go to http://andi.bjtvalve.com.
  • Enter your FAU\FAUNet ID in the "User Home Directory Log-On:" text box to log in.
  • Select your role.
  • Click "Submit."
  • On the next page, select "Open" for either the Web Browser View or Web Page View.
  • Enter your FAU Network (Active Directory) FAUNet Id and password in the pop-up window.

The default quota for M Drive is 200 MB. The URL for those files on your M drive is:

http://home.bjtvalve.com//web/

Broward Campuses Network Drives

In addition to space on these network drives, OIT's Broward Technology Services provides additional local file storage space for Broward faculty, staff, and administrators. Faculty will find this account very useful for large classroom data files since they can store the data from their office PC and retrieve the data on a classroom PC. Broward servers are fully backed up on a weekly basis. To request more information, contact Apolinar Ramon.
