Honors Scholarships
The University Honors Program (UHP) at Florida Atlantic University offers several scholarship opportunities to support and reward our students' academic achievements and unique experiences.
Below are details about each scholarship available to UHP students:
- This scholarship is designated for UHP alumni who have advanced to an upper-division honors program at FAU.
- Eligible students must be enrolled in such a program and provide a letter of confirmation from their faculty or staff mentor as part of the application process.

- UHP students planning to study abroad can apply for this scholarship, which requires proof of acceptance into an FAU-approved study abroad program.
- Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 6-8 credits for a summer program or 12 credits for a fall/spring program.
- Upon returning, recipients must present a half-hour public presentation on their experiences as part of their honors enrichment activities.

- Deadline: April annually for summer programs; November annually for fall/spring programs.
- Annually, the UHP holds an essay writing contest based on the selected common reading for the year.
- The contest awards up to three students with a $250 scholarship, which is applied to their student account.
- Winners are also recognized at the UHP Recognition Ceremony.

Caroll Mills Young Study Abroad Scholarship (College Language Association)
The Caroll Mills Young Study Abroad Scholarship, offered by the College Language Association (CLA), supports students pursuing study abroad opportunities. Named in honor of Dr. Caroll Mills Young, this scholarship awards funding to undergraduate students majoring or minoring in languages, literatures, or other humanities disciplines. This scholarship seeks to promote global perspectives and cultural understanding by helping students gain international experience. Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant
The Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant provides financial support for undergraduate students seeking to broaden their academic and cultural experiences through study abroad. Designed to promote cross-cultural exchange and foster academic excellence, this grant is open to students attending institutions that host Phi Kappa Phi chapters. Recipients of the grant must demonstrate strong academic standing and a desire to engage with diverse global communities.
