Welcome Dr. Sangbeak Ye

Dr. Sangbeak Ye is an accomplished statistician and researcher who will be joining the faculty of Florida Atlantic University as an Associate Professor in August. With an extensive background in statistics and a passion for advancing knowledge in his field, he brings a wealth of experience from his previous academic and research positions. Most recently, he served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Methods Center at the University of Tübingen in Germany.
Significant achievements and contributions to the field of statistics mark Dr. Ye’s academic journey. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Statistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where his dissertation explored sequential change detection and Bayesian learning promotion under cognitive diagnosis models. His education also includes a Master of Science in Statistics and a Bachelor of Science in Statistics, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Before his tenure at the University of Tübingen, Dr. Ye held the position of Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, where he taught in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and the School of Nursing and Health Studies. His teaching experience spans various subjects, including time series analysis, advanced statistical analysis, and statistical reasoning. He is also a seasoned researcher with numerous peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations to his name, covering topics such as clinical trials, survival analysis, and electronic health records.
