Video Audition Instructions
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are still accepting video auditions for admission to the Department of Music on a case-by-case basis. You must first get permission from the performance area director to audition via video. You may also be asked for a follow-up interview once you have submitted a video audition. Applicants auditioning via video will be considered for admission, but not for scholarship. Scholarship consideration requires an in-person audition.
Please upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo (Google Drive or Dropbox files will not be accepted). The video link and and any required forms should be submitted to the Performance Area Director via email. Submissions must follow the guidelines for repertoire as outlined for all auditions. (For Voice applicants, it should have live rather than pre-recorded piano accompaniment).
All required selections should be performed, in a single take, one after the other. Applicant should announce each selection prior to beginning that work. That should include: title, composer, and key
At the beginning of the video, applicants should read the entry script provided:
"Hello, my name is [insert first and last name]. I am currently a [senior/undergraduate] at [name of institution] and am auditioning for the Bachelor of Music degree in [degree track]. I am recording this is a single take and will not alter the recording in any way before submitting. Today is [ month, day, year]."
