AI offers numerous opportunities to enhance your work. This resource page aims to provide FAU faculty, staff and students with basic guidance and information on available resources. The content will be regularly updated as these technologies continue to evolve.

Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Club

This club will focus on data science concepts, data management, statistical techniques, and Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence used in health science research with a focus on various forms of data analysis, with suggestions for managing data, normality concerns, missing data, and introductions into the programming languages of Python (for ML/AI), R and R-Studio (for statistical analyses) and SQL (for data management and data wrangling).  

Join the next Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Club meeting on Tuesday, October 29, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., in person in Room 202 at Florida Atlantic College of Nursing or on Zoom.

The club is open to all Florida Atlantic students, faculty, and staff.

Microsoft Copilot

Microsoft Copilot

Copilot is your AI assistant for education. It provides AI-powered chat for the web offering enterprise data protection.

On September 2024, Microsoft announced Copilot offering enterprise data protection (EDP) will be replacing Copilot with commercial data protection. The updates to Microsoft Copilot are currently rolling out and are expected to complete within a few weeks. During this time, you may see a mix of Copilot with commercial data protection and the updated Copilot offering enterprise data protection.

  • Copilot can save time for faculty, staff, and students so they can focus on what matters most.
  • Copilot uses the latest AI models like GPT-4 and DALL-E 3, and its answers are based on up-to-date information including sources the content provided.
  • It's available to all Florida Atlantic University faculty, staff and students.
  • When attempting to access Copilot on the FAU network you will be automatically required to authenticate to take advantage of the enterprise data protection.

FAU OIT is piloting the use of Copilot for Microsoft 365 with various representatives across campus to determine the impact of generative AI use in daily work within higher education.

Grammarly

Grammarly Premium

Grammarly helps with proofreading texts, text suggestions, and can assist through various other apps such as Microsoft Word.

How to Activate your Grammarly Account:

  1. Go to the Grammarly Activation page to activate your account.
  2. Enter your FAU email address in the "School Email" field and select Continue.
  3. On the Sign Up page, enter your FAU email, a new password for Grammarly, and your name. Then select Agree and Sign up.
  4. You will then be taken to FAU Single Sign-on page. Continue by signing in with your FAUNet ID and password.
  5. Your Grammarly account will now be activated.

How to Install Grammarly:

  1. After you activate and sign in to your Grammarly account, you will be able to install Grammarly by selecting the Download Grammarly link.
  2. Download the Grammarly.exe.
  3. Click the Grammarly.exe and follow the promts for installing Grammarly.
  4. Complete installing Grammarly.
